Our friends at Visit Cornwall have put together a few suggestions of great things to do this festive period. Check them out!

Christmas blog

Eden Project, St Austell

From 28 November

Eden can always be counted on to pull out all the stops and this Christmas is no exception. Their ever popular ice skating rink is back with its baby and toddler play sessions, and races and games for juniors. A very special visitor with his handy helpers and antlered companions will be taking up residence at Eden in the run up to Christmas as he prepares for the big night. Explore the Enchanted Rainforest and marvel at the transformation of the humid tropics into a magical winter wonderland, with special performances from renowned Cornish theatre company, Wildworks.

Trebah Garden, Falmouth

20 – 22 December

For a traditional Christmas atmosphere that the big man himself would be proud of head to Trebah Garden just outside Falmouth. Masters at capturing the festive spirit, Trebah has become renowned for its popular Santa Days that take place just before the grand event. Follow the festive trail through the winter gardens to Santa’s magical woodland grotto and cosy up next to the wood-burning stove as excited children share their present wish lists – it’s a truly magical experience. There is also drop-in Christmas craft workshops, face painting and entertainment from Tarquin the balloon wizard.

Mousehole Christmas lights, Mousehole

The Christmas lights in Mousehole draw many thousands of visitors each year. Truly a stunning sight, with floating displays of lights in the harbour and around streets filled with the aroma of mulled wine and festive food. You’ll see a fantastic display of sea serpents, fishing boats and whales colourfully lighting up one of Cornwall’s most welcoming harbours. Centrepiece is the millennium Celtic cross on St Clement Island, powered ever so greenly by a wind generator. The village is ablaze with colour whilst the lights are on and to really appreciate the displays, walk around the narrow streets and follow the winding strings of lanterns as they disappear around the corner into yet another street barely wide enough to walk through.

Retallack Resort and Spa, near Padstow

27 November – 9 January

There’s no need to visit the North Pole when the festive fun of North Cornwall is on our doorstep for Retallack Resort and Spa has created its very own Winter Wonderland – and it’s open to the public as well as those staying at the luxury family park!
